  Somewhere in web space (I didn't save the address) is an article
by a guy who made a stereo camera with a large format camera.

  He had the front plates from some classic cameras (lenses and
shutters), mounted two plates (= 4 lenses) on a lens board
and made a stereo camera. The two plates were mounted above
each other so the four lenses were in two rows (wow, vertical
parallax :).

  He had some reason for wanting to make 4 images at once but
used it for stereo as well.  No mention of septum as I recall
but I assumed it had one.
