Exciting news regarding halogen bulbs!

Great news! I just received a shipment of halogen bulbs. In addition to
the standard 2.5V/0.8A (2W) bulb, I now offer a dimmer alternative, rated
2.5V/0.5A (1.25W). Both bulbs are available with a clear (standard) or
frosted (etched) glass. The optional frosted glass eliminates shadows or
bright spots. There is an option of reduced height. Halogen bulbs with
reduced height will fit in any stereo viewer (including the popular Realist
red-button and VM model D).
Code Description
-------- ------------------------------------------------
HLG 0.8A Standard bulb, very bright.
HLG 0.5A Lower current, dimmer, less battery consumption.
Price of each bulb ............ $ 6.00
Optional frosted glass, add.... $ 1.00 ea.
Optional reduced height, add... $ 1.00 ea.
A quick comment on the issue of prices. When talking about price, we have
to take into account the longevity of the bulb. While it is true that the
price of the halogen bulb is 5 times or more the price of the standard No.
14 or No. 245 bulbs, it also true that it lasts five times longer, or more.
I personally only had one bulb burned after 2 1/2 years of continuous use.
Considering the great performance (uniform white light), long life and
convenience (no need to carry extra bulbs) and the fact that the price of
the halogen bulb is still lower than a roll of slide film, you will
certainly agree with me that this is one of the best bargains in 3-d
supplies today.

For the technically-minded, recent light intensity measurements (directly
through the lens of a red-button viewer; listed in f-stops) recorded the
following (at 2.5V):
Bulb type f-stop reading Increase over No. 245
---------- -------------- ---------------------
No. 14 4.7 - 0.4
No. 245 5.1 0
HLG 0.5A 5.6 + 0.5
HLG 0.8A 6.7 + 1.6
Glass-etching reduces the light intensity by approximately 0.4 f-stops.
