3-D, it's getting around

I just read an article in the November issue of Advanced Imaging magazine
that was about a new stereo display system. The Electronic Visualization
Laboratory at the University of Illinois in Chicago and Urbana-Champaign has
created the ImmersaDesk and the NII/Wall. The ImmersaDesk is a
drafting-table shaped individualized virtual reality center. It has a 4x5
ft. rear-projected screen at a 45% angle. A Silicon Graphics Onyx computer
generates the two separate images for stereo. It also tracks your head
movement and uses a 3-D mouse. The viewing is done using Stereographics
CrystalEyes(LCD flicker glasses). And the screen is at 1024x768 resolution
at 96Hz.
