Re: TDC Colorist

I've used a TDC Colorist (actually two different ones) since 1963, when I
bought my first from Willoughby's in NYC for $15. I bought the last one,
mint in case, for $150.

While the mechanics of this camera leave much to be desired, the optics
are superlative (although untested by John B.). The Rodenstock lenses are
sharp corner to corner, do *not* vignette, and produce brilliant color
images. I've had Kodachrome 25 slides enlarged to 16" x 20" with pinpoint
sharpness (how's that for scientific!). The viewfinder, like many
50s-vintage stereo cameras, is fairly inaccurate. I've never been quite sure
what will appear on the final slide.
