Storage cases, and more

Thank you Bob Wier for pointing me to the list digests for slide storage
cases.

A collection of questions I've had building up:

Is there any interest in storage cases made from Birch? If so,what do you
think a fair price would be for a case approx. 12"x18" (4 columns of around
12"), handmade with care? 

What do you think is the most tedious step in mounting your stereo slides?
Can you think of a tool that would make mounting slides easier and that you
would like to see offered for sale?

Slight shift of gears: How should I care for my Realist leather case to
minimize cracking, etc.? Saddle soap?
