Las Vegas 3-D

In the L.A. Times on sunday there was an article abouta new simulator ride
in Vegas. The riders wear polarized glasses. They have the capasity for
700 visitors an hour, and it is at Caesars Palace. It costs $5 for 5
minutes, and there are 5 different rides to choose from, and is open from
10AM to 11PM daily. Some of them are computer generated, and some are live
action.
There is a quote (I don't know if it is a mis-quote, but I doubt it) from
the owner of Cinema Ride (the company that put the whole thing
together)"Those red and green glasses you used to get in the old 3-D movies
like 'Thirteen Ghosts' maintained the separation through color. We came up
whith a way to do it more like the eye does it and found a way to link it
all together in precise and seamless frames to present what is state-of the
-art at his moment."
I am planning on contacting the man that made this statement, and I will let
you know if he relizes that polarization has been around for (I think) over
100 years, as well as the fact that there were not that many 3-D movies made
in anaglyph. If any one on the list was involved with the project please
let me know. I would like to cover it for Stereo-World magazine.
