3D Software

DOUBLE VISION by Visual Software is the same product as 3D Maker by
Synthonics, I found out after purchasing the product.   Nowhere on the box,
or manual do you see the Synthonics name, but when the software loads you see
Synthonics, and if you view the "ABOUT" screen, Synthonics name is very
visible. 
DOUBLE VISION is on CD-ROM which is great for obtaining quite a few sample
anaglyph images.  Other than that it appears to be pretty much the same
version of 3D Maker that came out at Atlanta.   I quote from the box:
 "Create your own 3D stereo images from any photo!  With Doublevision you can
make anything 3D."   
Note it says "any photo",  not photoS, plural.   Misleading.  The manual
clearly verifies that you must have TWO photos, one left, one right, not just
one singular to make an anaglyph.   Apparently Visual Software company picked
up the product line as they sell primarily 3D computer graphics software, and
just added this to their inventory.  Must not be doing well though.  Sticker
price at Egghead was $28.95   ,  obtained it from Egghead for $9.95.   (for
CD ROM no less).  This at least helps make it worth a look-see for many
people who are interested in 3D.  The nice sturdy plastic frame R/B glasses
inside were almost worth the price of the entire package.  Some of the sample
photos are wipeouts.  Some quite good.  It would help perhaps to have a color
adjustment knob on the video monitor to adjust the red and blue on some of
the images. (or output to a TV monitor to get color adjusting capability).
Now if you can put the left image on monitor #1 (left), and the right image
on monitor #2 (right) and converge them (like in Virtual Boy - the game), add
polarizing, we might have something here.  (like a big mastercard bill and a
headache).   Well,,, it was worth $9.95.
