Well, I, for one, would be interested in helping you out for only a small
charge (an autographed copy of the book?)

I have a degree in English and have done a good deal of editing for computer
manuals, student papers and even a book of magic tricks.  

So, I can edit SOME for accuracy of 3-D info.  I can edit a LOT for clarity
and style.

Let me know.

One tip - try reading the text aloud.  That will help catch many structural
errors that look fine in print.  

Also, have a non-photographer read it straight through for a totally fresh
look.  That person will bring fresh eyes to a subject we know all too well. 
We will see what we expect to see - not what's there.  For example, I've
mis-learned to type FROM as FORM.  What is "see" is FROM.  What's on the page
is FORM.  No spell checker will catch that.
