On one hand,
I think this is a *great* idea- I was in this boat with 3d@xxxxx; I had only
shot 1 roll with my newly acquired camera, and didn't really have anything
to send, but would have *loved* to see the work of others (there's no
current 3D photo club that I know of here in Rochester). It would also be nice
(for the entrants who provided images) to share your work with a larger audience,
in fact, an audience that might even appreciate the entries MORE than the usual
entrant because they are new to the game, and full of wonder over
recently discovering 3D.
On the other hand,
We need to limit it somehow... I don't think it'd be fair to all
the "true participant" entrants to have to wait an extra 6 months
to get their turn while the package goes around the country to 100
imageless entrants. But what's a good limit? Number of imagless
entrants kept below 10? Charge $10 or $20 for the right to see it
(maybe dropping the $5 entry fee- used to defray overseas shipping)?
Imageless entrants must provide an item to go into the prize pot?
Allow only true newbies to enter this way?
Hey, maybe bribery is in order here! :-)
But any limit on participation will result in somebody being disappointed
on being left out.
I guess I can't think of a viable way to limit it right now, so maybe
mandating an image be entered is the only way...
