1. more expensive

2. have to special mail order beamsplitter and might not get it in time

3. beamsplitter designed to work with normal lenses (50 for 35mm) with
filter rings of 49-55mm so it probably wouldn't work on the small, 35mm lens
found on most disposables

4. no easy way to attach it to the disposable even if it would work
 
5. lack of slr would make it quite difficult to correctly frame the narrow
format

I could go on all night....

In retrospect, the easiest and cheapest way would be to shift weight with
one disposable.
