Realist flash modification

Item Subject: Realist flash adapter
I wonder if anyone else has tried my approach to adapting a modern
flash to the Realist. Not wanting to modify the camera in any
permanent way, I simply unscrewed the three flash bracket screws, replaced
them with longer ones with tiny washers between the bracket
and camera body. Fast and easy; no filing, no adapters, no modified
flashes. The washers move the bracket up high enough above the
contact to allow a hot shoe flash to be used.

The only other things you need to do are spread out the sides of the
bracket a little (depending on your flash), and add a "stop" to keep
the flash from sliding in too far and missing the contact.

I've been using this for a while now, works fine, and shouldn't affect
any collectability value the camera might have.
