Here's my 2 metapennies' worth

I'm all for one list as it is now. If some decision is to be
taken, two things could be taken into account:

- I feel very privileged as, as a subscriber to my
  Internet provider (top level) I get FREE TRAFFIC, 2 or 200
  megs for a flat rate. If others have to pay 24 (!) dollars 
  a month just for this digest, something should be
  done to take their plight into account. Sorry I have no
  idea what. Wait, can't we be both?? comp.risks both subscribes
  (I get it via email) and appears in usenet groups (as comp.risks),
  but I don't get it that way, see below.

- On the other hand, others (me!) have no usenet proper provider.
  Where would that leave us if the group goes that way? Or am I
  a minority of 1? Maybe there should be a (voluntary?) census.
  (I don't understand newsgroups very well, except the internal 
  Netscape stuff; through Mercury I think I might be able to access
  them (all? many?), but manually, no newsreader stuff.)

  But, I do think we form a group and it would be a pity to 
  lose this. And, as long as it's not outrageuoesly expensive, 
  it's very instructive to read technical stuff even when it's 
  above our heads. One learns a lot that way.
