MORE ABOUT RBT CAMERA

More information on the RBT camera, as requested by Peter Davis.

The RBT camera is being manufactured and marketed presently by RBT (that is
the name of the company, short for Raumbildtechnik) in Germany. Address
follows below. They had a booth at the latest NSA/ISU convention in
Atlanta. (National Stereoscopic Association and International Stereoscopic
Union did a joint convention last summer in Atlanta)

The model I have, RBT 3-D X2, is made of two Yashica bodies which are
melded together in such an expert fashion that unless you are told so, you
would not believe that the camera was not originally manufactured as an
original. This is German re-engineering at its best!

I wish I could say the same about their PR however. They are prompt in
replying but not with the finesse and efficiency one expects from such a
company. Perhaps things have improved now. Incidentally, they are the ones
that make the very successful and extremely accurate and easy to use 3-D
plastic mounts. The masks by the way are available from Joel Alpers at
Rocky Mountain Memories on this very list! He is, on the other hand, very
quick and pleasant to deal with.

Speaking of RBT, they also make a 3-D projector, also featured in Atlanta.
It is another dream come through, fully automatic and very reliable, more
expensive than the Brackett  projector but so much easier to use. I spoke
with one of their principals in Atlanta about a hand viewer, and he told me
that it is in the planning. Being familiar with their other products, I am
certain it will be the best.
