In case Tim's friend is asking about stereoview cards made _in_Germany rather than _of_Germany, Tex Treadwell's checklist contains over 200 names of stereographers based in Germany (I stopped counting at 100+ having reached the letter H).
I bet most of the made-in-Germany views we see here in the US are ones brought back by vacationers and military personnel. I don't see very many of them; one here or two there, except for the post-WWII-era Raumbild-Verlag sets, which seem to be fairly common. I don't know of anyone, dealer or collector, who is a specialist in German stereographers or stereographs (but I'm sure Treadwell and other collectors would be happy to know of any!)
John Weiler mentioned how many surviving views still have wonderful clarity and tone over 130 years later; I find that amazing too, especially after looking at faded b&w or magentized color from the 1950s! How'd they do it?--and how can one today avoid making the same mistakes as the 1950s photographers? I'm about to get into photography, and I don't want my efforts to be unviewable in 40 years.
