Stereomatic 500

I have only used the Stereomatic 500 once, but noticed that even short
durations of exposure the VM chips warped under the heat produced.  They
returned to a normal state after a few hours, but it made me wonder if
something can be added to this projector to absorb the heat.  I had hoped
to eventually buy a Stereomatic 500 to give small shows but the thought of
permanently damaging my images does put a damper on things.
