Ah, but what about the need to transpose the images?

In other words, I can't simply take a strip of V-M positives (of either
camera's format :-) and stick them directly behind the front half of a
viewer.  It's the same problem which gave rise to the need for that funky
viewer for looking at a strip of uncut Realist positives and has mirrors
and prisms inside (the name of which escapes me).
