Photo-3D seminars

OPINION: One thing that would have been most, most useful at the Atlanta NSA
would have been more seminars. As I recall there were some scheduled, but
were cancelled. In fact if any seminars occured, I missed them. With
hundreds of people all assembled in one place, and a wealth of people who are
knowledgeable on the various aspects of stereoscopic photography and
projection, it would sure be nice to see some seminars on the various aspects
of the art at the Rochester NSA.
Possible topics: Composition, equipment (taking, viewing, projecting), and
especially mounting of images in various types of mounts. Jon Golden's
comments on that subject are so very true. Wish I could attend the Boston
seminar, sounds great.

With computer hardware/software seminars costing hundreds to over a thousand
dollars to learn the latest and greatest, there must be some opportunity for
NSA and other photo organizations (local and national) to arrange for
qualified people on various topics, who are qualified seminar leaders, to do
some training (show and tell) .

Charge a few bucks for the seminars (after all nothing good is free - right?)
and the cash flow can help pay for the seminar presenter's overhead, and
maybe even add a few bucks cash to the organizations kitty.

OR As is done with the American Society of Media Photographers, they engage
in regular monthly free education and training meetings in my area (San
Diego), and advertise the meetings in local photo magazines. Glenn Stokes.

Then again, anyone out there who has comprehensive knowledge on all facets of
3D and the charisma to put on a good show, should actually be able to set
themselves up in business and 'make the rounds'. Certainly enough people
doing just that in all the self-help and computer fields today. Not that
Photo-3D seminars have anywhere near the revenue producing potential as
self-help or computer topics, but if somebody can actually make a living
travelling around the country making 180 degree photographs of people at
conventions, who's to say what will and won't work.
