I agree 100% with the prospect of seminars and additional training at the
NSA Conventions... this would certainly be nice. But please keep in mind that
these conventions are always organized by local NSA volunteers who have, for
the most part, never put a convention together before.

The truth of the matter is that we are fortunate to have a fairly organized
convention to begin with... much less any bells and whistles.

The NSA does secure the convention site and makes arrangements with the hotel.
Other than that... everything else is left up to the committee. If you've
ever been on a committee then you know out of the 12 individuals... about 3
will do the majority of the pre-convention work, and the remainder will 
pitch in at the end. 

Unfortunately... a good convention takes lots of pre-planning and foresight. It
also takes lots of time on the volunteers part... usually time that is not
avaialable, nor compensated for.

Of course the site changes every year... and so does the committee. Please 
remember that this is a bunch of dedicated amatuers just trying to do the
best that they can do... with very little help.

If you want more out of these conventions then my suggestion is... to 
volunteer to work with the local committee and assist with arranging the 
appropriate seminars. They will have their hands full just handling the
standard stuff and your help would be welcomed with open arms.
