Projector
Ah ha. My last projector idea flopped. Now if this idea below has not
already been thought of and is not currently in storage in the Kodak idea
drawer , I would really be shocked.
Take your standard Kodak Ektagraphic projector and slightly widen it on the
lens side so it's slide carrier arm will accommodate the "standard" width 3D
slide mount (we've got to agree on a standard here, so Realist is it), and
so we can get another lens implanted in that widened space also..
Make larger 80 slide carousels so they will hold a realist slide. .
Make sure the projector top is large enough to accommodate and rotate the
new larger 3D carousel.
Add another bulb and fan.
This unit could be hooked up to any existing Ektagraphic compatible slide
dissolve master. So you could have as many as you want (can afford) running
in a show. No more alignment problems from trying to show 2x2 slides in
separate machines. And some standardization.
With some real creativity, this unit could also use standard existing
carousels for 2D shows by plopping down a regular carousel, disengaging the
3D wheel drive and it operates like a regular carousel using only one bulb
and fan. Got to watch out for aging the bulbs at different run times
though, so maybe if there was a way to do a beam splitter on ONE bulb, the
bulb color temperature would never be different no matter if you were doing a
2D or 3D show. Less heat , less fan activity too.
I am writing the check now.
Thanks for listening. Glenn Stokes; San Diego
