There are three different halogen lamps that can be used as direct
replacements in the TDC projectors. I use Sylvania BTM's in my TDC 116.
There is a special tool available the grips the ceramic base of the lamp
allowing easy insertion and removal. The great advantage I have found with
halogen lamps is the brighter light for the life of the bulb. The older
projection lamps darken with age, so that you loose quite a bit a of light
towards the end of their life, while the halogens remain bright and clear to
the last moments before blow-out.
