silver screens

Recently I bought my first silver screen for stereo projection.
Earlier I had only been doing stereo prints and slides for a
hand-held viewer. The screen I bought was a second hand
german "Reflecta Silber". When I began projecting my old
slides on the screen I realised that projection is far more
complicated than viewing with my old viewer. I will have to
be much more exact in my coming mountings.
My problem is that bad mounting isn't the only bad thing
about my projection.
I have heard that "gohsting" is a problem all stereophiles are
having, but my ghost images were so prominent that they ruined
the hole image. No matter how I turned the pola filters I couldn't
get rid of them. I got an idea to put a piece of pure aluminium
in front of the projectors instead of the silver screen, and the
gohst images were all gone. Is the quality of the silver screen
really so important that you can't use a cheap
"Reflecta Silber" screen for stereo projection?
