This is only a half-serious suggestion but I believe there are such 
things as projectionist's binoculars which are used for setting focus.  
If they have a wide enough field of view, you can "sit at the ortho seat" 
when you're projecting.  It's all a matter of the views subtending the 
proper angle at the eye.  Low-power binoculars could enlarge the view 
to the correct width.  Probably even afocal (Galilean) binoculars or 
"telephoto" attachments for a P&S would work.  Just slap some polarizers 
on them dudes and you got it.  8-)
