The answer is, well, yes and no...

There are files from day #1, but we added the "digest archive" format
about a year ago. So there are really three sets of data - the original
format consisted of periodic dumps of saved messages - as you can see
below, these are *big* files. Later on, there are monthly compilations
of messages in a more manageable size (continuing up until now). Starting
with digest #700 or so there are the individual digest issues available.
Note that the files ending with .Z are in compressed format, so you'll
have to have access to a UNIX style uncompress program in order to 
read them. The .Z files must be transferred in binary format, whereas
the others are ASCII text.

So you can take your choice. 

Here is what is available in the ftp area (note that this is not 
in the digest archives area...)

Maybe some day we can break these up into a format more similar to what
is being used now (or find somebody to write a program to do it!).
