Slide Label Placement

Since I'm the projectionist for the Detroit Stereographic Society,  I
can give you my experiences.  First, projectionists don't care where the 
title label is.  We are looking for the thumbspot, which needs to be in the
lower left hand corner if the slide is positioned properly for a hand
viewer.  I've seen title lables on both sides of the slide, so do what you
like best.  Personally, I always put mine on the front of the slide.  I like
your idea of writing directly on the aluminum, because in future years you
will not have any problems with adhesives bleeding or drying out.  Anyway,
that's my .02 cents for today, hope I've helped.
