Re: Blackening materials

All this discussion of blackening materials reminds me of a problem I
have with a Kin-Dar macro attachment for the Exacta camera. The
Kin-Dar replaces the camera lens on the Exacta. It has two lenses that
focus at about 4-5 inches (I forget-since I haven't played with this
toy for a while). There is a metal septum that extends back from the
lenses almost to the shutter. This setum moves up & down with the
mirror. It is really a very interesting hardware item.

Now, here is the problem-when I've used this gadget, I get reflections
from the surface of the septum, and these reflections spoil the image.
So I need a blackening agent for the septum. I'm reluctant to use
spray paint since it would probably gum up the action of the septum.

Does anyone have a suggestion for a blackening material to apply to the
septum? I could probably apply paint with a small brush, if I thought
the paint would really cut the reflections. So-what brand, what part
number, etc??
