Detroit Stereographic Society

A few days ago I commented on judging 7-p vs. 5-p slides and Realist
vs. Twin-SLR. I mentioned the Detroit club in my posting since this
is the only place when I have actually seen judging taking place. I
would like to clarify that I have no, absolutely none, problem with
judging in Detroit. I was trying to make some general comments and I
am glad that my comments were followed by valuable contributions from
John Vala, Derek Gee and others.

This is my second year in Detroit... and I am having great fun or I
would not be driving 6 hours once a month to go to these meetings.
I have met some truly wonderful people and have learned (and still
learning) a lot in the monthly programs and competitions.

The meetings are the second Wednesday every month at 7:30 in the
Livonia Civic Park Senion Citizen Activity Center at Livonia, west of
Detroit. The next meeting is this coming Wednesday. The subject of
the competition is "Hyperstereo" (try this with a Realist!) and instead
of a slide program we will have a stereo card competition.

Anyone within 300 miles (!) from Detroit should make an effort to come
to these meetings... They are fun!
