You know there is a famous bug called the Cinderella bug of DOS that
affects
computers left on all the time. If not turned off, the date doesn't
advance at midnite at the end of the week. I wonder if this relates to
your problem in some way. Did an old DOS get installed. I thought the
later DOS's had killed it, but maybe it is built into UNIX? BobH
