Pseudo Bowl Tricks

On 3/12/96, Ron Doerfler wrote about a pseudostereoscopic experiment in which
one would (in the case of a still photo) let a marble rest at the bottom of a
bowl.  Viewed with the images switched left-for-right and the whole pair
inverted, this would produce a delightful, physically impossible creative
shot that might be contest worthy.
Has anyone got any good ideas for specific props to use in such a setup?
 Right now, I can only imagine a small sphere inside of a larger transparent
sphere.
