collecting/using
Dear beloved,
I really don't believe collectors are keeping anyone, who really wants to
make 3D pics from getting a camera. Someone who only wants to make stereo
pictures and not start a collection can get a decent camera from George
Themelis for a really "ridiculous" low price. (I spend more on catfood).
They still cost a LOT LESS then your average flattie-box. *I'm* not
complaining ! In my case there are about 14 camera's I like because I think
they are beautifull to look at, touch, show to people AND use. (They should
make the REVERE a Playboy centerfold, she's still a knock -out no matter her
age):-). I consider my modest collection only fun If I can share the
pleasure with other people. I loan them regularly to people who are not
shure yet they will continue and make a hobby of stereo photography or to
people who just want to use stereo for special occasions (mostly VM). It's
not very often you would find my "whole family" home togeather. Let
collectors fight for an spend fortuns on "rarest" items and if you want one,
just pay. I'd only consider it a shame to see a collection end up with
people who don't give a damm but keep it as an investment.(like
art-in-vaults) But then again there's to many camera's around to make it a
solid "investment", some prototype aside. Anyway, you certainly don't need a
"rare beast" to make pictures.
Amen ! ;-)
I appologise to everyone who thinks this discution has been going for long
enough and could have done without my contribution. Well.......I couldn't
help myself. :-)
Patrick.
