I again agree with this and join in with the applause. I also note
that this applause points out that those actions aren't to be considered
the norm, but the exception.
When I was eleven years old, I was able to be started in Amateur Radio by
a kindly old retired gentlemen who gave me a set of equipment that he had
advertised for sale in the newspaper, but which I couldn't afford. He was
a complete stranger and he *gave* me a complete set ("rig") and antenna
completely free. This contributed substantially to where I've gotten to today.
He is one of those unknown people who deserve such applause but who go un-noted.
I try to live to his ideals, but will probably never achieve that which he
did with me. But to demand this level of ethic of everyone is, I think,
unreasonable. At best, once in a while, even at some lower level is good. IMHO.
