Stitz beam-splitter/viewer

I saw someone finally mentioned the Stitz beam-splitter. I bought a boxed
set,         which included the splitter and a viewer, at a camera show last
fall, and I have       been trying to get information on its history. It
seems to be made in Japan. When      was it made, and how does it compare to
the Pentax or Ukrainian beam-splitter? It      is quite impressive looking
with the large circular front.
