Revere 33 Camera
I purchased a Revere 33 Camera at a second hand store. It came with a
case and is very clean and appears to be in good shape. I have not taken
any photographs with it yet. The camera came without a manual so I
require some information on the following:
(1) There is a small switch on the back of the camera, which I believe
is a parralex switch. When turned to the left it reads 3-10 Feet and
when turned to the right it reads 10 feet to Infinity. Looking through
the viewfinder I see no difference. Does this mean that this function is
not working?
(2) I ran an old (spoiled) roll of film through it, just to test it, and
I found that when I go to rewind the film back into the cassette the two
plastic sprockets that advance the film will not turn to the left to let
the film go back into the cannister. With most 35mm cameras there is a
button release on the bottom of the camera to release the gears and let
the film reverse. There is no such thing on this camera.
Other than opening up the back of the camera in a dark room and manually
rewinding the spool I don't know how to get the film rewound.
(3) The camera appears to have a Hot Shoe flash attachment but none
of my flashes will fit onto it. It appears that it is made for older
design flashes. Are there any adapters available to make this camera
operate with a modern flash?
Any information would be appreciated.
Bill
