Michael Kersenbrock <michaelk@xxxxxxxxxxx> writes <Trick is to determine who
the audience is and what is an acceptable percentage of offensiveness.
"None" is probably impossible. I find that slides that bore me to be
offensive, so those had better be left out too! :-)>

I am chagrinned that Mr. Kersenbrock believes that depictions of nudity
should somehow be rated, even by the presenter, under the vague term "an
acceptable percentage of offensiveness" and then self-censored from a show,
depending on the make-up of the audience. One would justifiably assume, at an
NSA stereo show, that the audience would be composed of those interested in
stereo photography, which historically has ALWAYS involved nudity.
Self-censorship, of course, is the ultimate objective of ALL censorship
attempts, and in this case, presupposes that artistic depictions of the human
body and of human interaction can be "offensive." In my opinion, offense will
only be taken by those who have major sexual problems, whatever the cause,
and perhaps those people should consider counseling. What they should NOT be
are arbiters of whatever another person may exhibit in a public forum as art.
