Siamese Camera

On and off, there has been mentioned the joining together of two cameras
so that they are synched. I believe that XA2's are mentioned most often.
Are the plans to do this on the Net anywhere?

As well, are there any design engineers of modern cameras out there. I've
always wondered if there is any way of running one camera as a slave of
another i.e. intercept the info from one CPU of a camera and send it to
another. This assumes that all processing is done on one chip and not
distibuted  throughout the camera.
