Series 5 filters

I have just started doing 5 perf work, with a Kodak (Dr. T has just about convinced me to
get a Realist, too) camera and a soon(?) to arrive Kodaslide II from the good Doctor.
I am at the 'educating the eye' stage of learning what elements make a good stereo slide.

One thing i intend to try is B&W stereo slides. In 2D art photography i like B & W much
better than color. i am not particularly interested in depicting 'reality', but rather in
emphasizing particular features, or in creating pictorial compositions which use subject
elements from the 'real world' to create an effective arrangement of shapes and tones. In
a way, stereophotography is a particular artistic challenge because of its greater
'realism' and i intend to find out how to create more abstract work in 3D. I believe black
and white is a step in this direction, since it reduces the viewer's tendency to compare the
picture with remembered reality.

At any rate, to make a long story shorter, I have acquired some SCALA film by AGFA. This
is a direct positive film intended for direct scanning or use in projection. It is ASA
200, with about 135 lines/mm resolution. I will post some relevant URLs later (gotta use
different software for browsing) which contain mfg. info and availability/price, if anyone
is interested.

What i need is some Series 5 filters which i can put on my Kodak for the usual B & W tone
control. I like K2 (minus blue) and some of the green and orange filters, with an
occasional medium red. I would be interested in hearing from anyone with such filters to
sell. i have posted a similar request on rec.photo.merchandise (or whatever it is called)
with no results yet. Do some of you users or collectors have spares you would like to
sell? Series 5 filters today are a special order item, which makes them a bit
inconvenient to find new. Besides, i am not sure if i will keep the Kodak, and i don't
want to have more into the filters than the camera. It is pretty nifty that the camera
comes with series 5 retaining rings built in. The lens is better than i thought it would
be, too.

Gotta go now--i just got my copy of Ferwerda from Photographer's Place (friendly and fast
service) and i'm off to become better educated. By the end of the evening i hope to know
what "ortho' means in stereo....%^)

best wishes to all, from an excited newbie (just got some anaglyph clip ons too-what a trip)
