To see, or not to see

I had hoped the debate over nudes would have gone the way of the Woolly
Mammoth by now. But, neither has cancer, famine, nor war crimes. So I=92m
not to surprised by the dark forces at work here. Just upset by them.

The suggestion that the bare human form (not puppies, not bunnies or
kittens) should not be viewed by children, or that it be relegated to
the back room of some nudie bar to be chortled at by the likes of Al
Bundy, is to me outrageous. It is a view, so against God, Nature, and
Man, that I am outraged! Some of you people scare me in your
demonstration of the insidiously narrow nature of Puritanical
intolerance. And, we haven=92t even gotten to the subject of 3-D and sex
(or as the Hindi God Indra was want to make manifest =93A meeting of man
and the Divine=94). Let=92s open our minds and try for a higher road.

Glenn Stokes has said:
=93Whether you approve or disapprove of glamour-nudity in photography, try
to be at least sensitive to the notion that someone else has a natural
and/or legal right to have a different point of view than you.=94
Perhaps we could leave it at that. Perhaps we could try to leave our
baggage and prejudices at the door when viewing someone elses work.
That, after all, is only =93common courtesy, ettiquette, and manners=94.
