Supplementary "add on" rangefinders

Has anybody on this list ever used an "add on" range finder on
a stereo camera? - I know that Leica made range finders many
years ago, that could be hooked to the top of a camera. I
believe that Kodak also made such things. - I was wondering
where I could find such a range finder, and what it would cost.
I am the lucky buyer of Mike Waters' Belplasca. I am very
pleased with it, but it would be nice to have a range finder,
for critical focusing. (I've already used the Belplasca to
shoot a high speed picture of a balloon popping. In order to
take advantage of the wider-than-Realist format, I shot the
picture in front of a mirror - So I have the main image in
front, and a mirror image in the back and off to the side.)
