Wanted: Jewish 3-D of the 50's

Hello All,

Spent my Passover sick in bed :-< , and missed mom's Matzo ball soup
and Photo op's in Montreal... Just catching up on a week of Photo 3-D...

I recently traded some labor (fixed realist) for a big box of 50's stereo
slides. This is the Baja case, with a kind of "cane" outside and 3 brown
bakelite drawers that hold 50 slides each. Though I really wanted the
case, the views that came with it are damned good! Either this guy was an
unusually good stereographer or a good "editor" or both. There aren't
many of pictures of people, which is what I like, but many good shots of
several major cities dated Jan-Dec of 1952. Cities include Chicago,
Cleveland, Knoxville, Los Angeles, Washington D.C., Boston, and others.
Very good shots, well composed and exposed, with plenty of slick, cool
automobiles. There were one or two shots of a friend shooting with a
Kodak stereo. From the captions, I guess that the photographer was a
part of an orchestra or perhaps a military band as there are some GI's
in one or two of the shots. All kodachrome, very little fading.

I'd be interested in trading with (or _buying_ from, or borrowing to
see/dupe, even!) anyone who has views of _Jewish_ life in the
40's,50's, and 60's: My interest in 3-D started with a slide of my
girlfriend's grandmother poolside in Florida circa '51, reading the
Yiddish Forward newspaper. I'm interested in Realist views only, of
weddings, bar-mitzvahs, brisses, Jewish holidays, Jewish people at home,
Synagogues, etc. This not only goes for trading this batch of slides: it's
a topic I'm very interested in seeing more of... Anybody deal in views like
this? Sources?

I'm starting to sense that I'm going to very much regret being
predisposed that first weekend of August! (I've got a Jewish wedding to
go to...)

Thanks...

-E in NYC
