Just got it. It's a lot of fun. Just don't expect
a high frame rate. (Note: I haven't yet employed
all of the frame-rate optimization tips, such as
turning off all of your other extensions, unplugging all
of your household appliances, polishing up your
biopsychic aura, and cleaning out all of your closets.)
About 2-1/2' diameter, white, with a blue-coated lens.
Apparitionally, two of these would make a phenomenal
stereo video camera. Three, on stalks, would be
even more extreme. (Hold the eyebrows.) ;^)
Problems which I haven't yet resolved:
1. Is it possible to synchronize the output of two QuickCams?
2. Is it possible to do field-sequential with quicktime or MPEG movies?
(Note: The camera's literature says that the camera outputs
a pure digital signal to the computer, without any
conversion to video. It creates a quicktime movie.)
3. Is it possible to do frame-sequential automatically?
(Note: Because of the low frame rate, frame-sequential
would probably be useless.)
4. Would the frame rate of each of the two (three?) cameras
be one-half (one-third) the rate of one?
