Internet "3D" video source
In case anyone's interested, there's a would-be entrepreneur on Internet called
Video 2000 who is advertising videos (almost exclusively pornos) in "3D". He
calls the process "Polarized Split Image Real 3D". But don't be fooled--it's
just good old Pulfrich, which is neither "polarized" nor "split image," and some
purists might argue isn't even "real 3D".
I've seen a couple of these. They put strippers or rutting couples, depending on
the tape and its rating, on a turntable with a lot of gingerbread garbage around
the perimeter to aid the Pulfrich effect, and then set the whole affair
spinning. The appeal is to see whether the couples can finish their business
before they pass out from dizziness, or perhaps whether the whole stage will
take off like that merry-go-round in "Strangers on a Train" and spin the poor
actors off the platform.
He's also got the notorious roller coaster "3D" movie, which is a total
fraud--it wasn't even filmed to exploit the Pulfrich effect! Finally, he's got a
couple of nature videos geared for kids, one on "creepy" insects and one on
dinosaurs, which appear to be anaglyph; I'm not familiar with them, but they
seem to have a respectable pedigree. The address is
http://home.earthlink.net/~vip.
