I recently built a 6x6cm stereo viewer with one bulb behind each image. I
found that I *had* to use nicads in order to get enough current. Alkalines
just couldn't put out enough power.

Dr. T sells 2.5V bulbs. They work beautifully with the 2.4V coming out of
two nicads.
