Thanks for all your responses on 3-D movies! Im responding to your responses
below.

I know that I was excited by the news that some old and recent 3D films were
available from 3D TV Corporation. I was going to look into it, but now I'm
not too sure. My apologies if I read the tone of your post wrong.

I was just trying to see if anyone was reading my letters. Did not want to
offend anyone. As soon as I receive a few titles from Shawn Smith I will
report on their quality.

Does anyone have Michael (can't remember his last name -- Stark?)'s address
up at 3DTV Corp. in the Bay Area?

And what about coupling two video-camera, making a video multiplexer and
then producing some movies, your *own* 3D-movies? If you do that, let us know
: I think many people here would be interested by some technical
informations, more than by lessons on how to spend money...

3DTV has a 3D Toshiba Camcorder for sale. Only $12,000! After I hit the
Lotto, Ill go out and buy it.

Roland, while your passion for 3-D is evident here, let me give you another
viewpoint. First, I doubt that unless the whole world started buying mass
quantities of 3-D tapes that the cost would drop much below $25. Look at how
current VHS titles are priced. There are occasional bargains, but $20-40 is
the regular range of prices.

You are probably right on the prices.

Second, I question whether 'Shawn' has the legal right to copy these movies.
 If a legitimate
outfit such as 3D-TV can no longer sell these, what makes you think 'Shawn'
does?

3D-TV decided to stop selling them on there own. Shawn told me he bought the
master tapes so, I guess he can make copies. I dont think they are illegal.
Maybe they are. Ill call him again to verify.

Speaking only for myself, I found the field-sequential video systems that
were marketed to the public were over-priced and of poor quality. Without
going to a fast refresh display or buffers, the picture flickers - badly!

The tapes I have bought from 3D-TV do flicker badly, if you turn your
contrast all the way up to maximum (which I never do). If you turn it down,
half way point or lower, the picture looks fine with little if any flicker.

You have to understand the distinction between "boom" and "fad"...
I don't think that a 3-D boom will come from people watching 3-d videos...
This will be another passing fad... And when it's over, we will be 20 years
back... And personally I don't want to see another 3-d boom followed by a
depression... I'd rather see 3-d as a specialized interest with 3-d movies
shown in special places and 3-d cameras being used by a minority in the
photographic community. Today there is certainly room for 3-d to grow
but slowly and steadily this time... -- George Themelis

I dont want to see another boom and then bust either. It is growing
slowly. In the past couple of years or so we have seen:

3-D movies at Walt Disney World in Florida - Honey, I Shrunk the Audience
and the muppet movie
A new 3-D movie at Universal Studios - Terminator 2 - 3D
New IMAX 3-D movie theaters with new releases being produced
The 3-D Nintendo system and games
3-D x-rated movies on video tape
3-D Sanyo TV
3-D CD-ROMS
And now we have Shawn Smith selling (legally or illegally?) 3-D movies that
3D-TV use to sell but, at half the price.
