3D magazine, etc
Hello all.
Anyone interested in a 1983 issue of American Cinematographer all about 3D
movies? Found it in a pile of old magazines at B&H last week. It's packed,
cover-to-cover about 3D movie techniques, cameras , etc.
Topics include (off the top of my head- I don't have it in front of me)
*Complete list of fims made to date. (Including never-released Sly and the
Family Stone concert film- that's using 3d for good instead of evil!)
*The Making of the House of Wax
*Special effects for Jaws and Metalstorm
* A short history of 3d (with an incorrect diagram! - shows keystone as
proper method!)
*Explanations of 3d film Formats , including the never-released viewmaster
movie camera.
*An appeal for industry standards for 3D
It also is full of assurances that the mid 80's boom would once and for all
establish 3d as a standard way of making movies.
*sigh*
I've copied out everything of interest to me, and would like to let a true
afficionado have it.
Make an offer-
Also, recently took a trip to Boston and had breakfast at Jon Golden's house.
Got to play with all kinds of stereo goodies, saw all sorts of hilarious
50's slides, and learned alot- most importantly that I need to get a light
meter. It's been said before but... we're all so nice!
