>Reference Roland Lataille question on Image Tech's 3D MAGIC camera.

My friend Andrew in Dallas (not on the list) tried one of these
as his first attempt at 3d.

He wasn't impressed with the lenticular prints on display so he
bought it and opened it up (easier than a Kodak disposable to open)
and put 100 speed slide film in. Then he mounted them in Albion 4
perf mounts to view using the Reel 3d $3 viewer.

Despite having no adjustments he got 10 good pairs out of a
roll by shooting under sunny conditions. He sent me five of them
to critique his mounting technique. The shots were soft at
infinity and still fairly soft at 8 or 10 feet where I would
assume it is focused. They were not bad considering that the
camera is fixed focus and presumable has single element plastic
lenses.

I did find that the FL on the lenses may not be really well
matched. If I aligned the two images using the bottom, then the
tops did not exactly match. Not really bad but not as good as
my Realist (surprise surprise :) .

With my Realist I push both film chips up or down in the Albion
channels and they are aligned vertically. With his shots I had to
have the right image about a thumb nail thickness higher up to
get proper vertical alignment. So the film may not travel perfectly
straight thru the camera. Not a big problem, especially if you
use Albions which allow for vertical adjustment.

  That's all I know...on this subject.
