I have never shot with a Custom.
The half-dozen people I know who have them have told me unequivocally not to expect
to see any improvement over a good example of a realist 2.8 (german, ektar, etc).
If you are looking for technical improvements in lens performance, perhaps you want
to consider a modern high-grade twin rig, slide bar or Belplasca.
