Public "Sorry" to Dr.T. & a bit more...

- Subject: Public "Sorry" to Dr.T. & a bit more...

First, I would like to say sorry to Dr.T for putting him on the spot a few
days ago. I have communicated with him directly, and wanted to do so here on
the list as well. Of course, the one note he sent out was not the only reason
for my reply to the list, and in context, had little to do with what I wrote.
I actually had a bunch of pent-up feelings about a particular subject, and
did not choose the right time, or wording to deal with it.
So, I will try again. Recently I have become frustrated by many poeple who
are quick to see a note about a particular facet of 3D that isn't a "match"
with their particular favorite type of 3D, and they quickly attack (for lack
of a better word) it. Case in point is the following message from a recent
digest:
--------------
> Well, since there's such a profusion of Virtual Boy
> information on the net, how about dropping it from
> this list? It's really not relevant to the collecting or
> taking of 3D photographs, and it probably of little
> interest to most of us on this list.

I for one am glad to know about new things in the Stereo 3D realm. Sure, I
might think that some things are not the same quality as others, but I
appreciate knowing about them, trying them, etc... If people can not get info
about Stereo3D things here, where are they going to? The "charter" of this
list is fairly broad, and allows for a wide avariety of Stereo topics. People
that are interested in many types of Stereo 3D join this list all the time.
With 800 plus people now, there are bound to be many different opinions about
what is or isn't relevant. So, if you like 3D anaglyps VHS movies, great! If
you like beam-spiltters, great! If you like ChromaDepth 3D, great! etc, etc,
etc... Why not just skip the messages that don't match your interests, or
maybe read them, and broaden your perspective.
Now, I realize that in my apology, I have probably angered someone else...
I am sorry if that is the case, but felt that this point needed to be made.
Again,.I would like to tell George that I am sorry for chosing him as the
sacrificial lamb in my other note... Poor choice on my part. George, the
"glasses" are off. Thanks for your well written post, (that I did read
incorrectly) and its continuations today.
Dan (off to play a quick round of VB 3D pinball before shutting down for
today...)
PS - Again, thanks to those who have shared VB info, and Nishika/Rittai/Image
Tech info, and Sputnik Info, and Anaglyph info, Wendy's comic info, book
info, magazine info, movie info, WWW info, etc, etc, etc, etc! Bring it on!
