I concur - I looked at it just before coming back to the office tonight,
and it's definitely 3D. From a programming standpoint, it's kind of
impressive. Rather than being 3D from a single viewpoint, the camera has
some limited flying capabilities with possible movement independent
of the "gunship" (although I find it irritating that I can't seem stay
zoomed out - I guess that is supposedly used to get a quick overview
of your surroundings without having to make a 360 degree spin). The
"zoom", in fact does not appear to be a ZOOM but an actual camera movement.
Also somewhat impressive are when the ski-doos (TM) rotate in front of you
giving a fully modeled view.

However, to me it is basically a shoot-em up with not much interest beyond
the technical details.

I'm pulling in all the information I can find on the unit and will be
sticking it into a specific area of the ftp site when I get a chance.
Of most interest to me personally is the page (and disassembly pictures)
from the MIT Media Lab. They have several suggestions on possible
interface conversions for use with other equipment. The most straightforward
way appears to be to get ahold of a developer's kit and see if there might
be a way to feed information via the cartridge plug in slot. If anyone
of our 750 "quiet" people out there have any information about that,
I'd appreciate a note to my e-mail address.

THANKS
