On reading Dr. T's comments, I tend to agree. I can buy View-Master
slides of hundreds of beautiful, scenic places. However, I don't look
at these with nearly the same relish as I do my own slides. My own
slides mean something to me. They remind me of when I took them, what
I was trying (often unsuccessfully) to accomplish, etc. I don't think
I would get that impact from someone else's slides.
That said, there are exceptions. If someone had slides of something
that greatly interested me, I'd be very interested in doing some
exchanging. For example, I'm very interested in theater, and would
love to get slides of plays and musicals I've never been able to see.
(I've often thought that theatrical performances would make
particularly good subjects, but I've never seen any slides.)
Anyway, that's just my opinion. I hope I wasn't too arrogant or
dictatorial for you all.
