Greg...I just wipe them with a cloth BECAUSE I mount all the very good 
ones in glass which is easy to clean and stays clean. I think this is 
essential for hand viewed slides. Some think this is too much expense 
and work, but it is akin to mounting your best photos on matt or frames 
for display and a lot cheaper than big color prints. The lesser pictures 
are in folder mounts or cardboard as returned from Kodak etc. But in 
time the good ones are those that are shown. I have several viewers so 
that each person gets a viewer (that stays adjusted for their eyes and 
spacing) and slides are passed around. BobH
