Re: Image Tech 3D fx
Peter Davis writes:
# The Image Tech 3D FX sounds pretty interesting. How available is
# processing likely to be, though?
As good as it is now for the Image Tech products, at least. There are
currently several of places worldwide processing TDIT format, in the
US, Image Tech, Ritz Camera among others. Ritz has their own processing
machines, some others are just collection points.
#Obviously, the more cameras they
# sell, the larger the market for processing, and the more available
# it's likely to be. Will the FX be more successful than the Nimslo or
# Nashika?
Hard to say ;)
# Alternatively, could the camera be adapted for use in making slide
# pairs? What's the separation between the outer lenses? How wide are
# the images on film?
Image format is the same as the "3D Magic", "3D Magic Plus", "3D Wizard",
and "3D 1000" - three consective half-frame images.
As far as adaptability to slide film, remember that this is an inexpensive
model targeted at the point-n-shoot crowd, not at serious photographers.
It's got a $35 price target, for cryin' out loud ;) So it has a fixed
shutter speed and aperture, and of course no exposure metering. Lenses
are plastic (same ones as in the "3D Magic".
# I'm not expecting anyone to have answers to these questions yet. I'm
# just expressing some interest and curiosity.
